When our driver told us Abu Dhabi was only a 90 minute drive from Dubai, we couldn't resist. What girl wouldn't want to see where Sex and the City 2 was filmed? Well, that would mean we would have to drive for 5,760 minutes (4 days), since the movie was actually filmed in Morocco.
Our first stop was the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. I thought the Mosque we visited in Dubai was beautiful; we were not prepared for the Grand Mosque. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was initiated by the late President of the United Arab Emirates, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His final resting place is located on the grounds next to the mosque. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. The mosque site is equivalent to the size of about five football fields.
As the country's Grand Mosque, it is the key place of worship for Friday gathering and Eid prayers. It is the largest mosque in the UAE and numbers during Eid can be more than 40,000 people. Amazing, huh!
After touring the Grand Mosque, we went over to the Emerites Palace for dinner
We decided to eat at the Hakkasan, a world renowned Michelin star restaurant, which specializes in modern Chineses cuisine. The food was sooooo goooood!!
We decided to dine outside; it was such a beautiful night.
...and all of the clocks were Rolex.
